Wow it has been a long time since we have posted here, and I am truly sorry about that. But the honest truth is, it seems like everyone I know is on facebook, or twitter and since I mostly put pictures here I have been using that for doing the same thing.

For the few people that don't have facebook or twitter, I am going to try something new.

http://caseygavette.posterous.com/ is a new site that I might start using more. It is much easier to upload pictures and video since i can send it right over email of text and if formats it the right way. With this site it is a little harder to do that, not impossible by any means, but just a little harder. So we'll see how it goes the remainder of the year and into next.

Just thought I would update this after our walk. First I would just like to thank everyone who donated, and everyone who walked with us yesterday. It was hot, but we had a great time for a great cause. I think our total donations were $675! That is great! We had a team goal of $500 and we met that and then some. I know how hard it is these tough economic times for everyone to spare some extra cash to donate to a cause that might not effect them personally, but you have no idea how much it means to me and my family. One day there will be a cure, maybe not in my lifetime, but I certainly hope it will be.

She is really into singing songs these days, which is good because both Heather and I love music, might have to break out Rock Band soon and have her play :) Things have been going well with our little family. Gillie is adjusting to daycare, although I don't think mommy is yet, ;). We have been super busy this month with visitors, swim classes and just normal family stuff.
I will be doing the annual Crohn's walk here again this year, and hope to sign up for it this weekend, I would have last weekend, but it was a very emotional draining weekend...see previous post. As soon as I sign up, I will post here, facebook and on twitter...you know, so if you want to donate, or join us :)

Today my friend lost his little boy to an illness that has lasted for over a year. I am deeply saddened by this, because he was so young, and because I am a father. A few years ago I had another co-worker lose his child to an illness and I was very sad. This time it is much different because I did not know then what it was to love a child and give up everything for them. Now I do, and it breaks my heart to see them going through this. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and cherish your family, because you never know when that opportunity will be gone.

So it has been a little while since I posted here, and I apologize for that. Still not back up to where I want to post a lot, but I will try to do more.
Thurs was my 33rd birthday, and I had a wonderful day with my girls...well after my OK day at. Shouldn't you get your birthday off from work, I mean COME ON! :) Gillie and Heather made me cupcakes on Wed night so we could have them on Thurs.

When I got home from work we got Gillie up from nap and Heather had me open my gift. Inside a box where two pieces of paper that Heather told me to pick which one I wanted. One paper was a new ZuneHD, and the other a Harmony Remote. I decided to get the Zune since I got my first one four years ago and it was time for an upgrade...and what an upgrade it is. Wow, I love it.
After we went to Best Buy to pick it up, we went out to dinner and then came home to have cupcakes.

Thanks to everyone who sent cards, and messages over facebook. I truly appreciate it.

It's been awhile since we've really posted, so I thought I would give an update as to what's going on with us. Casey's sister, Karlee, and her kids, Katie and Tyler, came to visit us last week. We had a nice visit with them, but it went by too quickly. Gillie absolutely loved having her aunt and cousins here. Katie slept on an air mattress in Gillie's room, and Gillie thought that was the greatest thing ever! She loved climbing into bed with Katie every morning when she woke up. When I put Gillie down for her nap today, she asked me, "Momma, where Katie go?" so she is obviously missing them. It was a nice visit, and we are so glad they made the trip down here!

Yesterday afternoon, we met some friends at Marbles Kid's Museum. They have a little girl, Gwyn, who is a couple of months older than Gillie. It was crazy busy, but the girls seemed to have a good time (minus Gwyn getting kicked in the mouth and Gillie bumping her head!).

Casey and I started doing a new exercise program called P90. I think the P90X is pretty popular right now, but we decided to start with the lower level, as we are a little bit out of shape! We've just started our second week doing it. We also started doing Weight Watchers again today. We've done it before, and had success, but have recently adopted some bad eating habits! So, in an effort to become healthier and to be good role models for Gillie, we are trying to eat better and be more active. The exercise program is rough, but it is definitely easier to stay motivated with Casey doing it, as well.

Gillie is doing really well. I'm not sure if we posted this, but she had her 2 year well visit at the end of January. She weighs 32 pounds (95th percentile) and is 35 1/2 inches tall (84th percentile). Apparently you can estimate a child's adult height by doubling their height at age 2, so the doctor estimated Gillie's adult height to be around 5'10" to 6'!! That seems crazy to me (I'm 5'4"), but we do have some tall genes in our families. We'll see! Gillie is talking up a storm. She says some of the funniest things, and is always making us laugh. She will be starting to attend a daycare/preschool in March. We've had someone coming to the house to watch Gillie, but she is due to have her first baby soon. So, we decided it might be best to put Gillie in a school, so she has the opportunity it interact with other children more often. I've had a hard time with this decision, but I do think Gillie will enjoy it and will do well. I'm sure I will have a few teary days dropping her off, but once I see that she is happy, I will be fine!

That's pretty much it for us! It's beautiful outside today, so we'll probably head out when Gillie wakes up from her nap. It's been a cold winter here (by NC standards!), so we're ready for spring and warmer weather!

Just thought I would post a few pictures from Gillie's birthday and birthday party. She has had a busy couple of days, and has really seemed to enjoy celebrating her birthday. She thought blowing out her candles was great, and is definitely into opening presents! We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends, who helped celebrate Gillie's birthday. It's so hard to believe that she is 2 years old! No more baby, but she has turned into a wonderful little girl. Thanks to everyone for all of Gillie's birthday wishes! Here are the pictures:

My first "real" picture of 2010. Yes the 365 project burned me out. Yes it caused me to never want to pick up my camera again..for a short time anyways. Yes I know people miss my pictures everyday, and for that I am sorry. I just never thought it would be that much work. It wasn't that I just needed to take a picture each day. I had to take the picture, edit it, upload it, and post it. A lot went into it every single day. It took out all of the joy of photography for me. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will get back into the swing of things, and start shooting again.
Here is a pic for Grandpa D :)

Also LASIK went well, I can see without my glasses for the first time since I can remember. It really is awesome.

This is just a portion of the insulation my Dad put up while I was at work. I had planned on helping him put all this up, but I guess he got bored. :) Hopefully we will see an improvement in Gillies room since the garage is now better than it was.

You might not be able to see it to well on this picture, but around Gillie's mouth is very red. It is very red because she decided to seat herself at the table before dinner, which she does all the time now, and she grabbed the pepper and shook it all over the table. Heather ran over but it was too late, and Gillie took her hand that she was spreading the pepper with, and licked it... She then said "spicy, spicy" and then started rubbing her mouth, nose and eyes. She is fine now, but I think she might not do that again :)

Anyone want to take a guess on what this is? I'll tell you what it is, it is my working furnace. You see what I got home, it wasn't working. I appeared that the fan was working but it was not igniting. It has an electronic ignitor, but something was wrong and it was not starting up. There is a little light on the circuit board that is a fault code indicator. Solid Red, everything is fine. When it flashes, something it wrong. It was flashing three times. I looked it up on the net and it was a code for the pressure switch being blocked. So went back up into the attic to see if I could fix it. Took the hose off the PS and made sure it was clear, then I put the hose back onto the fan housing and blew through the hose. Now you should not have any problems blowing through the hose, and I did. Found a small drill bit and reamed it out, put the hose back on and all was clear. Hooked both of the hoses up, and tried it. Fired up like normal, no problems at all. So relieved it was nothing major, and I was able to fix it. I don't think I really wanted to see the bill on this one if I had to call someone :)
So all is normal, and the internets saved me again....and Scott, and Jon...they helped too :)

These were our seats for tonight's game. My company has been giving away their tickets pretty much every weekday home game, and I was lucky enough to get them tonight. These were pretty awesome seats, although I love Sal's seats too ;), and they included parking, 4 free adult beverages, free soda, coffee, water, and free food. It was very cool.

This is a piece of pineapple that Gillie took from her plate after dinner. After I took this I proceeded to chase her around the house yelling, "eat it or I am taking it." followed by her normal response, "NO!" I almost caught her and told her again to eat it, as she said "NO!" she threw it behind her and ran away. This was in the hallway near the garage door for reference. I picked up the pineapple, threw it underhand towards the sink, it hit the faucet and bounced into the cup we use to fill up Kona's water dish. No lie....it was about 15 feet, and no way could I have done it again. Here is a pic to show where it hit and where it landed. :)

This view is pretty much where I was standing. Was anyone near me when I did it? Only Gillie, and she didn't really care.... :)

See what our lovely nanny is teaching our sweet and Innocent Gillie...:)
Ok so this look like SOB, but it isn't. Jess has been teaching Gillie the alphabet one letter at a time for 1 week. Last week was "B" So when they were outside, she drew a "B" then a little while later drew a smiley face, and then drew a snake....and for some reason put them right next to each other to spell out what looks to be SOB :)
So it really was Innocent, but I thought it was pretty funny.

I thought I would post a few pictures from our weekend. We had a great weekend, but it sure did go by quickly! After a week of non-stop rain, we decided we HAD to get Gillie out of the house on Saturday! It was still a little overcast that morning, so we decided on an indoor activity. We went to the mall, and took Gillie to Build-A-Bear. She chose to make a Christmas moose. It has lights on it's ears that actually light up when you squeeze his paw. She seemed to really enjoy making the moose. We did get to spend some time outside later on in the day, as the sun came out, and Gillie decided she didn't need a nap!

Today we went to the Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. Our friends are season ticket holders, and they had extra tickets for today's game, which they shared with us (we have such nice friends!!). We were very excited to take Gillie to her first game, but weren't really sure how it would go. I honestly thought Casey would watch the game, while I walked around the arena with Gillie, and I really didn't think we would stay for the whole game, but Gillie loved it! She was dancing and clapping and cheering, and having a great time. She made it through 3 periods of hockey, over-time, and a shoot-out! We sat next to some very nice people, who thought Gillie was adorable (of course), and they just kept laughing at her. She would look at them, point to the ice, and say "hockey!" It was a lot of fun, and a good reminder of how lucky we are to have such a fun little girl. She really is great!

So it is about that time of year again that I need to renew my Xbox LIVE account. Sal sent me a link for Best Buys reward zone gamer program. Now I am already a member of the gamer program, I was not however a member of their special text program. Basically they send you a text, up to 4 a month, on good deals. This weeks deal was $20 off the $50 value of Xbox LIVE for 12 months. Pretty good deal, it is usually hard to find a deal online for $30 so I asked Heather if I could do it. She said go ahead since it it a good deal. Well before I went I looked to see if I had any reward zone coupons. O am I glad I looked. I had a $10 coupon just waiting for me. So I used that also, and got LIVE for $20 for 12 months! That is a great deal! I just checked too, and my expiration if Jan 21st, 2011...Gillie's 3rd birthday :)

Happy Halloween! We had such a fun time trick-or-treating with Gillie tonight. We thought she would last for about 30 minutes and we'd head back home to hand out candy, but she was so into it! I think we wandered around the neighborhood for about an hour and a half (with a stop at a friend's house to eat some candy). Needless to say, we didn't end up handing out any of our own candy, so we have LOTS right now! I think Casey and I will both be bringing some to work to put in the break room!

Gillie dressed up as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz." Grammie (Casey's mom) made the costume, and it was just so cute! We found Gillie some sparkling red shoes, which she loves. She was adorable. She would attempt to say "trick or treat" sometimes, but she always said "thank you" and "bye." Sometimes she said "more" as well!:) It was just a really fun time. Here are a few pictures:
