Today was my Dad's 60th birthday. We were going to have a big party in NY for him this year, but Gillie came along and we decided to have something smaller here....I don't think my Dad minded one bit :)
I have been keeping a little secret from the blog, and it has been killing me! My Dad who never asks for anything, has been asking my Mom about a Nintendo Wii. Since I brought mine home over Thanksgiving, he has been hinting around that he would like to have one. Even after a year and a half since their release, Wii's are still very hard to find in stores. My Sister heard they were going to have some at Walmart on a Sunday a few weeks back. She also heard that this was a 24 hour Walmart and asked if they would be selling them at 12:01? The clerk was not sure, but said probably. So at 11 o'clock my Sister and I went to the new Holly Springs Walmart in search of a Wii. We got there and there were to women waiting by the games. We asked if this was the line for the Wii's, and they said yes. So we waited with them, an 86 year old woman and her daughter....The Wii was for the Mother :) After a little bit another couple joined the search. At about a quarter till 12, the clerk came over and told us they had three Wii's. SUCCESS!! We were number 2 in line, and had a Wii for my Dad. I swear the 86 year old woman turned 10 again :)
My co-worker and friend makes cakes as a hobby, and she is very good at it. So I asked her last Monday to make a cake for my Dad. She agreed and we decided to make a Wii cake, and tell my Dad we looked and looked but this was all we could come up with.

I must say it looked like I could pop Super Smash Brothers Brawl in there and turn it on. It was by far one of the best cakes I have seen. Everyone loved it. I think everyone who owned a camera phone took a picture of this cake, it was almost to good looking to eat....almost :) (Missy's cakes and frosting are the BEST)
So before the cake Dad opened his cards and his gift....

I think he was surprised :) Now he can work on beating Katie in bowling :D
So all in all, I think my Dad had a great birthday, and here is to many more. Love ya Dad.

Have a good night all.

O yeah, here is a picture of your favorite baby :)

How awesome was that cake??? That lady is quite talented! LOL

Happy Birthday to your Dad! Glad you could find the Wii for him. I know he was tickled to get it!

I LOVE that picture of Gillian. She is starting to really show that personality now. This was the age Mikayla finally started to "wake up"... Wesley was always alert and observing. Nothing has changed there. lol

Glad your Dad had a great day!
