We celebrated Gillian's 1st birthday yesterday. Her actual birthday is on the 21st, so we have a few more days of her being a "baby" before officially becoming a "toddler", I guess! Casey's parents and grandfather arrived Friday night, and my mom surprised me by coming yesterday (last I knew she was going to be unable to make it for the weekend). We had a small party yesterday afternoon to celebrate Gillian's birthday. It was a very nice time. Our parents will stay for the remainder of the weekend, and leave tomorrow morning. We're so glad they could be here to help us celebrate Gillie's special day. I'm just going to post a few pictures now. I'm sure I will reflect more on the past year on her actual birthday (or Casey will).

Lots of presents and 2 cakes!!! "Smash" cake is a funny idea. Never heard of it, but I am sure the name will fit.
Happy birthday to Gillian from the Brassine/Maizrim clan! We are finally back online here in Greenville and hope to get to Raleigh again soon. (I start a new teaching job next week, so I haven't been on GG or XBL lately) Hope all went well with the birthday bash! Looks like she got a lot of cool toys! :)
