I wanted to see how this one would turn out when printed big....when I say big, I mean big. I have an Epson R1800 and it will do 13X19, so I decided that I would try it on Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper. Let me so, it turned out fantastic. Now I am not sure what I want to do with it though.....maybe I know someone who will want it :)

Before this stressful shoot, Gillian had her first doctors appointment with her new Pediatrician, Dr. Ramsdell. We were suppose to meet Dr. Ramsdell the Tuesday after Gillian was born, but we didn't. So today was her two week checkup, and everything was great! Gillian now weighs 7.9 lbs, up 7 ounces from her birth weight. Not to bad.
Gillian also had her first walk outside today.....wow lots of firsts. She was asleep for the whole thing, but Kona liked. That is all for now, I may try and do another shoot after dinner, have to see what kind of mood she is in :)

They are great "natural" pictures. Well, at least we know you did not force her to smile.

Case if you are looking to give Gillie's picture to someone....great photos....how about this weekend get all my grandchildren in a picture.

Mom, I can try, but with the other kids being sick last week, it might be hard to get them. Maybe next weekend. That will also give me some time to go to Home Depot, and Jo Ann Fabrics to get stuff for a backdrop.

maybe.....if number 3(4) says it is ok :)

Looking great, Casey. :) Did you use natural light or your flash bounced? I think they are precious. You'll be amazed at how much she changes from week to week so keep doing this. lol :) Glad she had a lot of great firsts today! I am also tickled to hear she is doing so well. :)

I used a combination of natural light from the East side window, a reflector I have, and my SB-800 for fill. I have remote triggers, but I have no idea how to use them. I was planning on mastering them before Gillie came.....that did not work out :)

Man, I love, love, love B&W portraits. These are gorgeous!
Not that you need a reminder to take photos, but the first year of Cassie's life, I took a picture of her every month on the date of her birth and created a 'first year' scrapbook. It's one of my favorite things--Kellie is right--you'll be amazed how much she changes month to month this first year!
